💚 A Morning with Fair Food – Where Community Comes to Life
Some of our team recently had the absolute privilege of visiting and volunteering at Fair Food — and wow. What an operation. What a kaupapa. What an impact.
From the moment we arrived, Tracey took us behind the scenes and walked us through the somewhat logistical puzzle that unfolds there every single day. The coordination, the timing, the partnerships, the people — it’s like watching a living, breathing system built entirely around care and community.
Then it was time to roll up our sleeves with Dale… and there was no standing around. In almost three hours, we were packing carrots, chopping fruit, and bagging bananas at lightning speed. It was hands-on, fast-paced, purposeful mahi — and we loved every minute of it.
What really stood out?
Literally nothing goes to waste. Even the scraps are redirected to local pig farmers. That circular mindset — honouring food, people, and the planet — is woven into everything they do.
🌏 The Impact is Massive
Fair Food’s 2025 impact stats speak for themselves:
829,545 kilos of food shared with communities
2,153,880 meals worth of fresh food passed onto families
102,566 people helped during a tough time
6,490 volunteers
23,039 volunteer hours
122 corporate teams engaged
72 charity partners supported
1,998 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions reduced
8,188,384 kilometres of driving emissions reduced
75,687 kilos of compost shared with local farmers
This is food rescue at scale. This is environmental action in motion. This is dignity delivered through fresh kai.
On the wall inside their warehouse is a quote that stopped us in our tracks:
“When ‘I’ is replaced with ‘WE’, even illness becomes wellness.”
We loved this. Because that’s exactly what Fair Food embodies. It’s not about one person or one organisation — it’s about collective impact. It’s about stepping in, shoulder to shoulder, and turning surplus into support.
We are incredibly grateful to the Fair Food team for welcoming us so warmly and trusting us to play a small part in their big mission. We sincerely hope this becomes a regular commitment for us — because the more we can help you, the more you help our wider community.
If you haven’t seen the incredible work they do, take a moment to watch our video and learn more about the powerhouse that is Fair Food.
Together, we really can turn “I” into “WE.” 💚
